PRIOR PROVISIONSA prior section 61k, Pub. L. 95-26, title I, May 4, 1977, 91 Stat. 79, authorized President pro tempore of Senate to appoint and fix compensation of an Administrative Assistant, a Legislative Assistant, and an Executive Secretary. These positions were abolished effective Oct. 1, 1979, by section 101 of Pub. L. 96-38.
