Section 62.296 - Notice of Election(a) The election shall be held not less than 20 nor more than 30 days from the day of the election order and after notice is given.(b) Notice of the election shall be published once a week for 20 days immediately preceding the election in some newspaper published in the territory proposed to be annexed. If no newspaper is published in the territory, notice shall be posted in three public places inside the territory for at least 20 days immediately preceding the election.(c) The notice: (1) shall give the time and place or places for holding the election;(2) shall give the boundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed; and(3) may contain the substance of the order of the commission ordering the election.(d) The secretary of the commission shall have the notice published or posted.
