Section 55.497 - Necessary Vote(a) In a district operating under the authority of Article III, Section 52, of the Texas Constitution, a two-thirds vote of persons voting in the election is required to adopt a proposition to issue bonds or to enter into a contract with the United States.(b) In a district operating under the authority of Article XVI, Section 59, of the Texas Constitution, a majority vote of persons voting in the election is required to adopt a proposition to issue bonds or to enter into a contract with the United States.
