Section 51.1751 - Additional Sources for Payment of Lease(a) Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter, a district may make payments from tax revenue under a lease of all or any part of an irrigation system as provided in Section 51.173 of this code if the lease is approved by a majority of the qualified voters voting at an election held for that purpose.(b) An election for the approval of a lease shall be called and conducted, the returns canvassed, and notice of the election given under the same procedure as a bond election in the district. The election may be held on the same day as a bond election of the district.(c) If the lease is approved at the election and authorized by the board of directors, it shall constitute an obligation against the taxing power of the district, and the district shall levy, assess, and collect taxes to the extent provided in the lease.Tex.
