Section 8801.058 - Employees; Bond(a) The general manager shall employ persons necessary to properly handle district business and operation. The general manager may employ attorneys, bookkeepers, engineers, and other expert and specialized personnel considered necessary.(b) The general manager shall determine the compensation paid to district employees.(c) The general manager may discharge a district employee.(d) The board shall require an employee who collects, pays, or handles district funds to furnish a good and sufficient bond. The bond must be in an amount sufficient to safeguard the district and must be:(1) payable to the district; and(2) conditioned on the faithful performance of the employee's duties and on accounting for all district funds and property in the employee's hands.(e) The district shall pay for the bond described by Subsection (d).Tex.
