Section 651.554 - Penalty to Be Paid or Hearing Requested(a) Not later than the 30th day after the date the preliminary report is sent, the person charged may:(1) make a written request for a hearing; or(2) pay the administrative penalty to the commission.(b) Failure to request a hearing or pay the penalty within the time provided by this section waives the right to a hearing under this chapter. If the right to a hearing is waived, the penalty is due not later than the 30th day after the date the preliminary report is sent.(c) If the person fails to timely pay the penalty, the person's license is automatically suspended for six months.(d) If the person requests a hearing, the hearing shall be conducted in the manner provided by Section 651.506.
