Section 351.252 - Education Requirements for Therapeutic Optometrist(a) A person must satisfactorily complete the education requirements established by board rule to be licensed as a therapeutic optometrist.(b) The education necessary to meet the requirements must:(1) be provided by an entity approved by the board; and(2) include an emphasis on the examination, diagnosis, and treatment of conditions of the human eye and adnexa.(c) The board by rule shall require successful completion of accredited academic and clinical courses in pharmacology and related pathology that are: (1) approved by the board; and(2) determined by the board to be equivalent in the total number of classroom hours to the requirements for other health care professionals in this state who are licensed to use pharmaceutical agents, including dentists, podiatrists, and physicians.
