Section 206.052 - Appointment of Advisory Committee(a) The advisory committee consists of six members appointed by the president of the medical board. One member must be a registered perioperative nurse with at least five years of clinical experience as a registered perioperative nurse. Each of the remaining members must be:(1) a practicing surgical assistant who has at least five years of clinical experience as a surgical assistant; or(2) a physician licensed in this state who supervises a surgical assistant.(b) Appointments to the advisory committee shall be made without regard to the race, color, disability, sex, religion, age, or national origin of the appointees.Added by Acts 2001, 77th Leg., ch. 1014, Sec. 1, eff. 9/1/2001.
