Section 1702.284 - Alarm Systems Records Confidential(a) Information contained in alarm systems records maintained by a governmental body that concerns the location of an alarm system, the name of the occupant of an alarm system location, or the type of alarm system used is confidential and may be disclosed only to the department, to the alarm company to which the confidential records relate, or as otherwise required by state law or court order.(b) Information described by Subsection (a) may be used by the governmental body to inform the occupant of: (1) the governmental body's alarm system response policy and any proposed change to that policy; and(2) the option of the occupant to contract with a security services provider to respond to the occupant's alarm.Tex.
