Section 505.160 - Election Required for Project; Petition(a) A Type B corporation may undertake a project under this chapter unless, not later than the 60th day after the date notice of the specific project or general type of project is first published, the governing body of the authorizing municipality receives a petition from more than 10 percent of the registered voters of the municipality requesting that an election be held before the specific project or general type of project is undertaken.(b) The governing body of the authorizing municipality is not required to hold an election after the submission of a petition under Subsection (a) if the voters of the municipality have previously approved the undertaking of the specific project or general type of project: (1) at an election ordered for that purpose by the governing body of the municipality; or(2) in conjunction with another election required under this chapter.Tex.
