Section 51.015 - Operation of Motor Vehicle for Certain Commercial Purposes(a) An occupation that involves the operation of a motor vehicle by a child for a commercial purpose is not a hazardous occupation under this chapter if the child:(1) has a driver's license under Chapter 521, Transportation Code;(2) is not required to obtain a commercial driver's license under Chapter 522, Transportation Code, to perform the duties of the occupation;(3) performs the duties of the occupation:(A) under the direct supervision of the child's parent or an adult having custody of the child; and(B) for a business owned or operated by the child's parent or guardian; and(4) operates a vehicle that has no more than two axles and does not exceed a gross vehicle weight rating of 15,000 pounds.(b) The commission shall adopt rules consistent with this section.Amended by Acts 1997, 75th Leg., ch. 165, Sec. 30.213, eff. 9/1/1997.Added by Acts 1995, 74th Leg., ch. 903, Sec. 1, eff. 8/28/1995.
