Section 982.003 - Life Insurance Companies Wanting to Loan Money

A life insurance company that wants to loan money in this state but does not want to engage in the business of life insurance in this state may obtain from the secretary of state a permit to loan money by complying with the laws of this state relating to foreign corporations engaged in loaning money in this state without having to obtain a certificate of authority to engage in the business of life insurance in this state.
