Section 885.203 - Refusal to Issue Certificate of Authority to Foreign Fraternal Benefit Society(a) If the commissioner refuses to issue a certificate of authority to a foreign fraternal benefit society under Section 885.202, the commissioner shall: (1) make the refusal in writing;(2) file the refusal in the department's office; and(3) on request, provide a copy of the refusal and a statement of the commissioner's reasons for the refusal to the society's officers.(b) The commissioner's refusal to issue a certificate of authority to a foreign fraternal benefit society for authority to engage in business in this state is reviewable by proper proceedings in a state court.Added by Acts 2001, 77th Leg., ch. 1419, Sec. 1, eff. 6/1/2003.
