Section 885.002 - Limited Exemption From Insurance Laws(a) Except as provided by this chapter, a fraternal benefit society is governed by this chapter and is exempt from all other insurance laws of this state for all purposes.(b) A law enacted after July 1, 1913, does not apply to fraternal benefit societies unless a fraternal benefit society is expressly designated in the law.Added by Acts 2001, 77th Leg., ch. 1419, Sec. 1, eff. 6/1/2003.
