Section 843.403 - Minimum Net Worth(a) A health maintenance organization authorized to provide basic health care services shall maintain a minimum net worth of $1.5 million.(b) A health maintenance organization authorized to provide limited health care services shall maintain a minimum net worth of $1 million.(c) A health maintenance organization authorized to offer only a single health care service plan shall maintain a minimum net worth of $500,000.(d) The minimum net worth required by this section may consist only of:(1) money of the United States;(3) bonds or other evidences of indebtedness of the United States that are guaranteed as to principal and interest by the United States; or(4) bonds or other interest-bearing evidences of indebtedness of a county or municipality of this state.Added by Acts 2001, 77th Leg., ch. 1419, Sec. 1, eff. 6/1/2003.
