Section 242.301 - [Multiple versions] DefinitionsIn this subchapter:
(1) "Nursing facility" means an institution or facility that is licensed as a nursing home, nursing facility, or skilled nursing facility by the department under this chapter.(2) "Nursing facility administrator" or "administrator" means a person who engages in the practice of nursing facility administration, without regard to whether the person has an ownership interest in the facility or whether the functions and duties are shared with any other person.(3) "Practice of nursing facility administration" means the performance of the acts of administering, managing, supervising, or being in general administrative charge of a nursing facility.Tex. The 75th Legislature enacted two versions of Subchapter I. This version of Subchapter I, comprising §§242.301 through 242.322, is effective until the issuance of a ruling by the federal government that the system established under Acts 1997, 75th Leg., ch. 1280, Art. 1, for licensure of nursing facility administrators does not comply with federal regulations.
