Section 54.758 - Magistrates May Be Appointed(a) Any magistrate in El Paso County may be appointed as a judge of the criminal law magistrate court or as a family law master, or both, and continue as a judge or justice of another court.(b) A magistrate may not be appointed under Subsection (a) unless the magistrate agrees to the appointment.(c) A magistrate appointed under Subsection (a) is not entitled to receive additional compensation unless the commissioners court provides additional compensation.Tex.
