Tex. Gov't Code § 2308.054

Section 2308.054 - Terms

(a) A member of the council who does not serve as an ex officio member serves a six-year term. Approximately one-third of these members' terms expire in each odd-numbered year.

(b) An ex officio member serves as a member of the council as long as the member continues to serve in the designated office.
