Section 2054.051 - General Duties of Department(a) The department shall provide the leadership in and coordination of information resources management within state government.(b) The department shall monitor national and international standards relating to information resources technologies, develop and publish policies, procedures, and standards relating to information resources management by state agencies, and ensure compliance with those policies, procedures, and standards.(c) The department shall provide and coordinate an information resources management training program for the departments of state government.(d) Repealed by Acts 2009, 81st Leg., R.S., Ch. 393, Sec. 2.07(1), eff. September 1, 2009.(e) The department shall provide for all interagency use of information resources technologies by state agencies. The department may provide for interagency use of information resources technologies either directly or by certifying another state agency to provide specified uses of information resources technologies to other state agencies.(f) The department shall identify opportunities for state agencies to coordinate with each other in the adoption and implementation of information resources technology projects.(g) The department shall establish plans and policies for the system of telecommunications services managed and operated by the department.(h) The department shall: (1) coordinate with the quality assurance team to develop contracting standards for information resources technologies acquisition and purchased services; and(2) work with state agencies to ensure deployment of standardized contracts.Tex.
