Section 2.207 - Marriage Conducted After License Expired; Penalty(a) A person who is to conduct a marriage ceremony shall determine whether the license has expired from the county clerk's endorsement on the license.(b) A person who conducts a marriage ceremony after the marriage license has expired commits an offense. An offense under this section is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not less than $200 and not more than $500.Added by Acts 1997, 75th Leg., ch. 7, Sec. 1, eff. 4/17/1997.
