Section 88.209 - Director(a) The main station and the substations are under the supervision, control, management, and direction of the director of the Texas Agricultural Experiment Station at College Station. The director shall reside at College Station.(b) The board may pay a part of the director's salary from money appropriated by the Legislature for the maintenance and support of the experiment stations in the proportion that in its judgment is just and proper, taking into consideration the division of his time between the main station and the substations and the sum appropriated for the purpose by the federal government.(c) The director may employ the assistants and labor and may purchase the livestock, farming implements, tools, seed, and other materials and supplies that he deems necessary for the successful management of any or all of the experiment stations, subject to the approval of the board.
