Section 61.082 - Research(a) The board shall: (1) encourage institutions of higher education and the faculty of those institutions to individually or through collaborative effort conduct human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) related research; and(2) recognize achievements in basic and applied HIV-related research.(b) The board shall encourage and fund applied and basic HIV-related research through its ongoing research programs, including the Advanced Technology and Advanced Research Programs.Added by Acts 1989, 71st Leg., ch. 1195, Sec. 18, eff. 9/1/1989.
