Section 51.3521 - Permanent Advisory Committees(a) Permanent advisory committees are established.(b) Each committee consists of the president, or the president's designee, of each general academic teaching institution and of each public junior college within a 100-mile radius of a general academic teaching institution.(c) Each committee shall biennially elect a presiding officer.(d) Each committee may elect other officers.(e) Each committee shall adopt rules to govern the time and place of meetings and the transaction of business.(f) Each committee shall: (1) periodically study regional higher education needs in this state; and(2) make recommendations to the governing boards of each general academic teaching institution and each public junior college represented regarding degree programs, core curricula, and joint faculty appointments to enhance the transfer of students and the coordinated working relationships between those institutions.Tex.
