Section 49.308 - Orders and Notice

(a) The commissioner shall order any detachments and annexations of property under this subchapter not later than November 8 of each year.

(a-1) Notwithstanding Subsection (a), for the 2023-2024 school year, the commissioner shall order any detachments and annexations of property under this subchapter as soon as practicable after the canvass of the votes on the constitutional amendment proposed by H.J.R. 2, 88th Legislature, 2nd Called Session, 2023. This subsection expires September 1, 2024.

(b) As soon as practicable after issuing the order under Subsection (a), the commissioner shall notify each affected school district and the appraisal district in which the affected property is located of the determination.
