(a) Members of the state board serve for staggered terms of two years. The terms of the members elected from State Districts No. 1, No. 3, and No. 5 expire in odd-numbered years. The terms of the members elected from State Districts No. 2 and No. 4 expire in even-numbered years.(b) The term of office of an elected member of the state board begins on the day after the day on which the member was elected. The term of one member appointed by the governor expires February 1 of each odd-numbered year, and the term of the other member appointed by the governor expires February 1 of each even-numbered year.Tex.
