Section 54-5-139 - Maintenance contracts with counties(a) The commissioner may enter into a contract with a qualified county to perform maintenance activities upon the rights-of-way of state highways located outside municipalities and metropolitan governments.(b) The department of transportation shall reimburse the county on an actual cost basis.
