Section 29-13-405 - Notice to victimsAfter establishing an escrow account, the attorney general and reporter shall notify victims of the existence of the account in the following manner:
(1) By direct notification, if direct notice to a victim is possible and not unreasonable under the circumstances, as frequently as provided by subdivision (2), that moneys are available to satisfy a civil judgment pursuant to this part; and(2) If direct notice is not possible, by publication of a legal notice in a newspaper in the county in which the crime was committed and in counties contiguous to that county. The notice shall advise the victim that escrow moneys are available to satisfy a money judgment pursuant to this part. The notice shall be published once every three (3) months for three (3) years after the date the escrow account is established. The attorney general and reporter may provide for additional notice as deemed necessary.Acts 1994, ch. 1003, § 5.
