The board may summarily suspend a license or registration in advance of a final adjudication or during the appeals process if the board finds that a licensee or registrant would represent a clear and immediate danger to the public health and safety if allowed to continue to practice. A licensee or registrant whose license or registration is suspended under this section is entitled to a hearing before the board within twenty days after the effective date of the suspension. The licensee or registrant may subsequently appeal the suspension to circuit court in accordance with chapter 1-26.
