Section 2606 - Schedule of premiums or rates of insurance

On or before October 1 in each year, the board shall prepare and publish a schedule of premiums or rates of insurance for employers under Article III; employers who want insurance against liability under the Federal Coal Mine Health and Safety Act of 1969 ( Public Law 91-173, 30 U.S.C. § 801 et seq.); employers who want insurance against liability under the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act (44 Stat. 1424, 33 U.S.C. § 901 et seq.); and employers who want insurance against liability for all sums such employer shall become legally obligated to pay any employe of his as damages because of bodily injury by accident or disease, including death at any time resulting therefrom, sustained by such employe arising out of and in the course of his employment. This schedule shall be printed and distributed free of charge to employers. An employer may pay to the fund the amount of the premium appropriate to his business or domestic affairs and, upon payment thereof, shall thereafter be considered a subscriber to the fund and shall be insured as provided in this article for the year for which the premium is paid. This insurance shall cover all payments becoming due in any year because of accidents occurring during the year for which the premium is paid.
