Section 120.127 - Conveyance authorized; description

The Department of Property and Supplies, with the approval of the Governor, is hereby authorized on behalf of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to convey to the United States of America for national park purposes for one dollar ($1), that tract of land situated in Wharton Township, County of Fayette and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, on which is erected a boulder-type monument with a plaque attached commemorating Fort Necessity, bounded and described as follows:

Beginning at a point in the center of the national pike at corner of land now or formerly of William Burley, Sr. and William Burley, Jr.; thence in the center of said national pike in a westerly direction 15 feet to a point; thence by other lands now or formerly of said Burleys in a southerly direction 48 feet to a point; thence along land now or formerly of said Burleys in an easterly direction and parallel with the center of said national pike 15 feet to line of land now or formerly of Walter Fazenbaker; thence by said Fazenbaker line 48 feet to the center of said national pike, the place of beginning.

Being the same property conveyed to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania by deed of William Burley, Sr., and William Burley, Jr., dated July 3, 1926, recorded in the office of the Recorder of Deeds of Fayette County, Pennsylvania, in Deed Book Volume 47D, Page 476.
