Section 85 - Carlisle Barracks Military Reservation

The jurisdiction of the State of Pennsylvania is hereby ceded to the United States of America, for the occupation and use, for purposes of national defense, and for the erection and maintenance of the necessary buildings for the military or other public use of the United States, over all the lands now embraced within the boundaries of Carlisle Barracks Military Reservation, situate in Cumberland County, State of Pennsylvania, excepting roads abutting on said reservation, and that portion of the Carlisle-Harrisburg turnpike located within the boundaries thereof; and over all that tract of land comprising the New Cumberland General Depot, situate in York County, State of Pennsylvania, excepting roads abutting thereon, and those portions of the Marsh Run Road which lie within the boundaries thereof, and that portion of U.S. Highway No. 111 (old State Highway No. 333), which extends across the southeast corner for a distance of approximately two hundred seventy and one-half (270 1/2 ) feet.
