Section 6096 - Redemption money paid by lien creditor to be a lien on debtor's title

When any lands which within two years last past have been or hereafter shall be sold for taxes, are redeemed by any person who has a lien, or by such person's heirs, assigns or legal representatives, the redemption money thus paid, with lawful interest from time of redemption thereon, shall be and remain a lien upon such title of the debtor as would have passed to the purchaser under the sale if no redemption had been made, and shall have priority as a lien over other liens against the same title: Provided, however, That the lien creditor, his heir, assigns or legal representatives, thus redeeming, shall have and is hereby authorized to have the said claim or receipt for redemption money entered by the proper officer as costs on the record where the lien is entered or recorded, and thereupon the said claim shall be treated as docket costs in the proper judgment or mortgage lien, and together with interest thereon, shall be preferred in the distribution of the proceeds of any subsequent sale of said property.
