Section 1733-E - Pennsylvania State PoliceThe following shall apply to appropriations for the Pennsylvania State Police:
(1) The Pennsylvania State Police may not close a barracks until the Pennsylvania State Police conducts a public hearing and provides 30 days' notice, which shall be published in the Pennsylvania Bulletin and in at least two local newspapers.(2) Payments made to municipalities under 53 Pa.C.S. § 2170 (relating to reimbursement of expenses) shall be limited to money available. If money is not available to make full payments, the Municipal Police Officers' Education and Training Commission shall make payments on a pro rata basis.(3) For fiscal years beginning 2023-2024, notwithstanding section 205 of the act of April 9, 1929 ( P.L. 177, No.175), known as the Administrative Code of 1929, the Pennsylvania State Police shall consist of a number of officers and enlisted members and shall be organized in a manner as the Commissioner of the Pennsylvania State Police, with the approval of the Governor, shall determine. The number of officers and enlisted members beginning in fiscal year 2023-2024 shall not exceed in the aggregate at any time 4,410 individuals. Pennsylvania State Police officers and enlisted members assigned to duty with the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission, gaming enforcement and liquor control enforcement shall not be counted in determining the total number of officers and enlisted members in the Pennsylvania State Police under this paragraph.Amended by P.L.
