Section 1519.52 - Board of Trustees; powers; duties

There is hereby created as an advisory board in the Department of Public Welfare, a board of trustees to be known as the Board of Trustees of the Hamburg State School and Hospital. The board of trustees shall consist of nine members and the Secretary of Public Welfare ex officio. The members of the board shall be appointed by the Governor. The terms of the first three members of the board appointed shall be for a term of two years, the terms of the next three members of the board appointed shall be for a term of four years, and the terms of the next three members appointed shall be for a term of six years. Their successors and all members appointed to succeed members who have served six year terms shall be appointed for terms of six years from the date of the expiration of the preceding term, and shall serve until their successors are appointed and qualified. Vacancies happening before the expiration of a term shall be filled for the unexpired term.

The board hereby created shall have all the powers and be subject to all the duties imposed on advisory boards of State mental institutions by the act of April 9, 1929 (P.L. 177), known as "The Administrative Code of 1929," to which this act is an amendment.
