Section 1561 - Widening streets around Capitol grounds; dedication of land for sidewalks

Whenever the city of Harrisburg by proper municipal action shall widen or alter any of the public streets of said city abutting on Capitol Park or Capitol Park Extension, by providing that the driveways of such portion of said streets or any of them as abut on said Capitol Park or Capitol Park Extension shall be widened so as to include the present sidewalks along said park or extension, the Board of Public Grounds and Buildings is hereby authorized to dedicate for sidewalk purposes, for the use of pedestrians, so much of the land within the limits of said Capitol Park or Capitol Park Extension abutting on said streets as the said board may determine to be necessary or advisable, and to construct and maintain thereon, according to such plans and of such material as the said board may determine, sidewalks and paths for the use of pedestrians along said streets, or at such distances therefrom as may be set forth in said plans; the cost thereof to be paid out of any funds appropriated, or to be appropriated, for the care and maintenance of the said Capitol Park or Capitol Park Extension.
