Section 601 - Application of chapterThis chapter shall apply to, and the word "institution" in this chapter shall mean:
(a)a bank, a bank and trust company, a savings bank and a private bank for the purpose of all of the provisions of this chapter, and (b) a trust company for the purpose of the provisions of this chapter concerning safe-deposit agreements and for the purpose of section 610 .
