Section 2110 - Asbestos Control Advisory Committee(a) Advisory committee created.--The Asbestos Control Advisory Committee is hereby created to advise the secretary with respect to the rules and regulations of the department promulgated pursuant to this act and other procedures, standards, criteria, guidelines or related matters assigned to it by the secretary.(b) Advisory committee membership.--The advisory committee shall be composed of 11 members appointed by the secretary as follows: (1) The Secretary of Labor and Industry or his designee, who shall act as chairperson.(2) The Secretary of Environmental Resources or his designee.(3) The Secretary of Health or his designee.(4) Two members who shall represent construction contractors and shall each have a minimum of two years' experience in asbestos abatement.(5) Two members who shall represent construction unions whose members are engaged in asbestos abatement.(6) Two members who shall represent the public interest and shall be members of environmental organizations with expertise on asbestos issues.(7) One member who shall represent building owners.(8) One member who shall be an environmental consultant and shall have a minimum of three years' experience in consulting on asbestos abatement.(c) Asbestos abatement.--The Asbestos Control Advisory Committee shall also study the need for the creation of an asbestos abatement project permitting program and asbestos abatement project contractor licensure program and shall make recommendations to the secretary based on its findings.1990, Dec. 19, P.L. 805, No. 194, § 10, effective 7/1/1991.
