63 Pa. Stat. § 281-7

Current through P.A. Acts 2023-32
Section 281-7 - Issuance of license

The Secretary of Banking, if he approves the application for license, shall issue to each pawnbroker a certificate showing the name of the pawnbroker and the address of the place of business. Such license shall be posted in a conspicuous place in the office of the pawnbroker so that it shall be in full view of the public at all times. Such license may not be transferred or assigned. Whenever a pawnbroker shall change his place of business to another location within the same city, borough or township, he shall at once give written notice thereof to the Secretary of Banking and return the license certificate to the Secretary of Banking for amendment. The Secretary of Banking, if he approves the removal, shall endorse on the license in writing his record of the change of address and the date thereof, which shall be the authority for the operation of such business under such license at such new location. No change in the place of business of a pawnbroker to a location outside the original city, borough or township shall be permitted under the same license. Not more than one place of business may be operated under the same license.

If a pawnbroker operates more than one place of business, additional licenses may be obtained by filing a separate application for each additional place of business and furnishing an additional bond for each additional place of business and paying the license fee provided in this act for each such place of business.
