Section 58021 - Appointment; terms; vacancies(a) A shade tree commission shall be composed of three or five residents of the township who shall be appointed by the board of commissioners and shall serve without compensation.(b) If a shade tree commission of three members is established by any township, the board of commissioners shall appoint one member for a term of three years, one for a term of four years, and one for a term of five years. If a shade tree commission of five members is established by any township, the board of commissioners shall appoint members to staggered terms so that one term expires every year. On the expiration of the term of any shade tree commissioner, a successor shall be appointed by the board of commissioners to serve for a term of five years.(c) Vacancies in the office of shade tree commissioner shall be filled by the board of commissioners for the unexpired term.1931, June 24, P.L. 1206, art.
