Section 57083 - Railroad crossings(a) Every township constructing a street across a railroad shall construct the same above or below the grade of the railroad, unless permitted by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission to construct the street at grade.(b) Any new construction of a street crossing a railroad or any vacation of any street crossing a railroad shall be constructed or vacated only in the manner consistent with the rules and regulations and under the jurisdiction of the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission.(c) Compensation for damages to the owners of adjacent property taken, injured or destroyed by the construction of a street crossing a railroad or any vacation of any street crossing a railroad shall be ascertained, fixed and paid under 66 Pa.C.S.
