Section 23606 - Meetings and powers of board; duties of president and secretary

The president shall preside at all meetings of the board. He shall appoint all committees, sign all necessary papers, approved by the board, requiring his signature, and perform such other duties as may be required by his office.

The secretary-treasurer shall keep minutes of all meetings of the board, receive and receipt for all payments to the fund, and keep accurate account between the fund and its members. All checks shall be signed by the secretary-treasurer and countersigned by the president of the board.

There is hereby provided an account for the secretary-treasurer to meet the small expenditures as may arise by the meetings of the board. The secretary-treasurer shall be reasonable for the proper disposition of such account.

The board shall hold regular monthly meetings at a time and place to be fixed by the board. Special meetings of the board shall be called by the president whenever he deems it necessary, or upon written request of seven members of the board of twenty-one members or beneficiaries of the fund.

The board may appoint and fix the compensation of such employes necessary to the proper administration of the fund, and provide for equipment, supplies and services necessary to the administration of the fund. The cost thereof shall be payable from the fund.
