Section 4659 - Privy vaults in districts where no sewer exists

In rural districts, or districts where no sewer exists, privy vaults shall not be located within two feet of party or street line, nor within twenty feet of any building. Before any privy vault shall be constructed, application for permission therefor shall be made to the department or board or bureau of health; and such privy vault shall have nine-inch walls, constructed of hard burned brick, or stone, laid in cement mortar, or of concrete, with bottom and sides cemented so as to be watertight; size to be not less than four feet in diameter and six feet deep.
