Section 4401 - Power to regulate; fees; bonds

For the purpose of protecting the public and the raising of additional revenue, each city, borough, town and township shall have the power to enact or adopt suitable ordinances or resolutions for the purpose of regulating the business of operating for profit, motor vehicle parking lots within the boundaries thereof. License or permit fees may be charged and collected from each such operator, and where such regulatory plan is adopted it shall require from each operator good and sufficient bonds for the protection of the public from loss of, or damage to, the vehicles parked, stored or placed under the jurisdiction of such parking lot operator.
