Section 991.1625 - Penalties(a) Any surplus lines licensee who, in this Commonwealth, represents or aids a nonadmitted insurer in violation of this article commits a misdemeanor of the third degree and shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than two thousand ($2,000) dollars.(b) In addition to any other penalty provided for in subsection (a) or otherwise provided by law, including any suspension, revocation or refusal to renew a license, any person violating any provision of this article shall be liable to a civil penalty not exceeding two thousand ($2,000) dollars for the first offense and not exceeding four thousand ($4,000) dollars for each succeeding offense.(c) The penalties in this section are not exclusive remedies. Penalties may also be assessed under the act of July 22, 1974 (P.L. 589, No. 205), known as the "Unfair Insurance Practices Act," and any other applicable statute.1921, May 17, P.L. 682, No. 284, art.
