Any person who, as principal, attorney, agent, broker, or other representatives, shall engage in the business contemplated by this article, or any variety or part thereof, without complying with the requirements thereof, or who shall violate any provisions of this article, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and, upon conviction, shall be sentenced to pay a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars ($500).
