Housing authorities created under the "Housing Authorities Law," the act of May twenty-eight, one thousand nine hundred thirty-seven (Pamphlet Laws 955), as now or hereafter amended, and limited dividend housing companies created under the "Limited Dividend Housing Company Law," the act of May eighteen, one thousand nine hundred thirty-seven (Pamphlet Laws 704), as now or hereafter amended, shall, in addition to the powers conferred upon them by those acts respectively, have the right to contract for, erect and maintain projects under this act.
