Section 26-2602 - Management and custody

All real and personal property belonging to the State School Fund shall be wholly under the control and management of the State Board of Education. The net receipts derived in any way from, or on account of, any real or personal property belonging to the State School Fund, and all other moneys accruing to said fund, shall always be promptly paid to the State Treasurer, and kept by him in a separate account, subject to the disposal of the State Board of Education as herein provided. The State Treasurer shall deposit said funds in the properly authorized depositories for State funds, and shall add to such funds the interest received from the depositories for the use of the same. All income derived from any investments of the State School Fund shall be paid to the State Treasurer, and kept deposited as herein provided in a separate account, subject to the order of the State Board of Education. The State Treasurer and his bondsmen shall be responsible for the safekeeping of, and accounting for, said funds, in the same manner and under the same penalties as for the safekeeping of, and accounting for, the other funds of this Commonwealth.
