Section 18-1806 - Administration by school districts

Any school district may, through its board of school directors--

(1) Establish and maintain career and technical industrial, career and technical agricultural, career and technical family and consumer sciences, and career and technical marketing and distributive occupational education schools or departments.
(2) Receive any donation made to the school district for the conduct of any career and technical school or department or career and technical evening classes. The donation shall be administered by or under the direction of the board of directors of the district to which it is made, subject to the approval of the secretary of education. The board of school directors in any district shall not be obliged to accept any such donation unless it seems proper so to do.
(3) Require a deposit fee of a sum not to exceed ten dollars ($10) from each person enrolling in evening career and technical schools or classes. Such deposit fee shall be returned at the close of each term of instruction to all persons so enrolled who have attended seventy-five per cent (75%) or more of the class sessions of the term and may be returned at any time because of death, sickness, or any other cause which the board may deem justifiable.
(4) Acquire land for the purpose of an agricultural school and equip and maintain the same in a proper manner, to be used in connection therewith.
