The title to all courthouses, jails, prisons and workhouses, together with the lots of land thereunto belonging or appertaining, and all other real property acquired or that may hereafter be acquired by or for the use of the county, shall be vested in the county for the use of the people thereof and for no other use except as hereinafter provided.
