Section 5232 - Violations; enforcement and remedies(a) It shall be unlawful to erect, construct, reconstruct, alter, maintain or use any building or structure, or to use any land, in violation of any regulation in or of any provision of any zoning ordinance or any amendment thereof enacted or adopted by any board of county commissioners under the authority of this subdivision. Any person, firm or corporation violating any such regulation, provision or amendment of any provision of this subdivision shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not more than one hundred dollars ($100) or imprisoned not more than ten days, or both. Each and every day during which such illegal erection, construction, reconstruction, alteration, maintenance or use continues shall be deemed a separate offense.(b) In case any building or structure is or is proposed to be erected, constructed, reconstructed, altered, maintained or used, or any land is or is proposed to be used, in violation of this subdivision or of any regulation or provision of any ordinance or amendment thereof enacted or adopted by any board of county commissioners under the authority granted by this subdivision such board, the district attorney of the county or any owner of real estate within the district in which such building structure or land is situated may, in addition to other remedies provided by law, institute injunction, mandamus, abatement or any other appropriate action or actions, proceeding or proceedings to prevent, enjoin, abate or remove such unlawful erection, construction, reconstruction, alteration, maintenance or use.1953, July 28, P.L. 723, art.
